ABOUT ABOUT

This workshop will invite participants to explore how identity, history, and artifacts expose the feelings/sounds/images/philosophies of our development. The community will be invited to come as they are, honoring their ability/age/heritage/experience/interest to explore the objects and locations of their individual lives and witness how that unfolds within the gathered community in the room.

Shavon Norris is a Philadelphia-based artist, educator, and facilitator. She uses movement along with text, sound and imagery to reveal the stories living in our bodies. She has an MFA in Dance from Temple University. As an artist her work has been presented at venues in NYC and Philadelphia. As a performer, she has performed for Silvana Cardell, Leah Stein, Merian Soto, Jumatatu Poe, and toured internationally and nationally with Pig Iron Theatre Company. As a facilitator, she works with corporate organizations, educational institutions, and artistic communities, offering learning on topics of Creativity, Movement, Mindfulness, Inclusivity and Healing Centered/Trauma Informed Practices. Most days she loves the arting and the doing.

This workshop is being offered as part of the 2022 Cannonball Festival. Visit cannonballfestival.org to see all that the festival has to offer!
